Western Trailers trailblazing began with sliced bread. Our company started out as a truck body manufacturer in the late 1950’s. One of our first customers was Eddy’s bread; they were looking for a more efficient way to deliver bread. We came up with a way to expand the cab of a P series Ford truck by six inches and keeping the truck the legal width of eight feet at the time. This innovation gave the space to haul an extra rack of bread.
Western Trailers moved into the trailer business in the late 1960’s building some of, if not the first all-aluminum cattle trailers in the west. The first Western belted potato trailers came to market in the early 1970’s and by the late 70’s the first self-unloading Western potato trailers were out hauling potatoes. Our Commodity Express trailers have become one of, if not the best self-unloading trailers through listening to our customers and continually working to improve our trailers.
Today, Western Trailers draws from those early days and the company mission statement really says it all “Deliver quality, innovative, transportation solutions.” Western builds trailers to take care of just about every agricultural need with Hopper, Express Floor ®, Elite® flat bed, Super Van®, and AG chassis there aren’t too many things that our trailers haven’t hauled. Whatever your need for trailing equipment give us a call and find you are ahead with Western behind you.
